To complement OSU’s interest in imaging and informatics, the Department has a major interest in digital pathology. Drs. Sanford Barsky and Charles Hitchcock spearhead the efforts in this area. Research initiatives include the development of an inexpensive scanner which will revolutionize digital pathology, TMA algorithms which will automate TMA interpretation, and the creation of TMAker which will automate TMA construction. Under the direction of Dr. Hitchcock, telepathology initiatives will be expanded in the coming year. A U.S. patent on digital image analysis is pending final approval
