Courses in Pathology Education

The Department of Pathology is involved in many aspects of Health Science Education.   Pathologists teach courses in basic mechanisms of disease as well as systemic pathology (organ-based pathology) in the Med II curriculum.   When taken together, an understanding of both basic and systemic pathology allows one to understand and work out the principles of clinical medicine, i.e. the expression of systemic pathology in a particular patient.

Pathologists teach in six of the seven Med II divisions.  The textbook for these courses is Cotran, Kumar and Robbins, Pathologic Basis of Disease, 5th ed.
