Assessments

Multiple assessments will be used for the evaluation process in order to obtain a global (360°) evaluation of the students.  The students will be evaluated by the surgical pathology attendings and gross room/autopsy service staff according to the competencies.  A minimum score of 80% is necessary in order to be promoted at the end of every quarter.  Quizzes and a final practical and written examination will be given during the last 6 months of the second year.  The quizzes will assist in the evaluation of the student and promotion at the end of each quarter.  The written examinations will comprise 50% of the grade.  A minimum average quiz score of 80% is necessary in order to be promoted.  The other 50% will be the clinical performance evaluation, which also requires a minimum score of 80%.  The final practical and written examinations are given at the end of the last quarter.  The student has to earn a minimum score of 80% in each exam in order to graduate.  In case of failure, a make up examination will be arranged for the student in accordance with University policy.
