Q. Are the specimens available right away?
A. The TPSR procures from surgical cases, and also has a
tissue bank that can be served from once the application
is approved depending on the tissue requested.
Q. What kind of tissue do you provide?
A. Any kind of remnant tissue that can be provided from
the OR.
Q. How is tissue prepared?
A. The TPSR has fresh, frozen, fixed and paraffin blocks.
We also can add slides if requested.
Q. Do you test the tissue for HIV or Hepatitis C?
A. No, we don't test for HIV or Hepatitis C, but we don't
procure tissue knowing that it is HIV or Hepatitis C infected.
Q. How long does it take to be approved and start receiving tissue?
A. It takes 5 business days once we get the completed application.

A. The easiest way to be billed is by 100W.

A. No.
Q. How do you add / change a request?
A. Traci Jordan
manages the tissue requests and all questions regarding
changes in requests must be directed to her.
Q. I placed my request on hold (on date), why should I
accept the specimens?
A. An investigator is required to accept all specimens procured
prior to the CCCTPSR being notified about the "onhold."
Q. How long will it take to get some specimens?
A. It varies from tissue to tissue depending on the availability.
Q. How long will it take to get "breast" (or other) tissues.
A. No specific time frame is set. As soon as a particular
tissue is available, the investigator is notified.
Q. What type of information comes with the specimens?
A. A complete anonymized pathology report and packing slip.

Q. Can I get additional patient information?
A. No, unless you have informed consent (i.e., clinical
trials).
Q. What requests do I have in my profile?
A. Information about your profile can be obtained from
Traci Jordan.
Q. What additional services do you have?
A. Tissue banks containing frozen and fixed tissues.
Q. How do you store frozen specimens?
A. Specimens are stored in a -80 degree C freezer. Long
term storage is done in vapor-phase liquid nitrogen freezers.
Q. Can you hold my specimens until you procure more?
A. Maximum of 5 specimens can be kept on hold at a time due
to the high quantity of specimens that are stored in our facility.
Q. Can I get a list of all specimens that have been shipped
to me?
A. Yes, the list of specimens obtained from the CCCTPSR

Q. How will I be notified when specimens are ready for
pickup?
A. You will be notified by our shipping office.
Q. Is the packing slip also the invoice?
A. No, the packing slip is not the invoice.
